Because of all the requests, I will continue to post from time to time to update you all on the girls.
This is one of the hardest weeks so far, it was this time last year we were praying for that miracle and thinking we had no hope. Well, we basically had one more year with Dave, actually he fought that much harder and longer to spend as much time as he could with the girls. As hard as everything has been to handle, this past year has really been a blessing with "Dave's Thanksgiving Miracle" and has helped the girls cope and understand a little better of what was to lie ahead. So we will be giving Thanks for the last year we all had with Dave.
The girls and I will be having Thanksgiving at our house, it was the girls wishes to have as much as a normal holiday as possible. We are hosting 2 dinners this year! a lot of food to be had. On my side of the family, there are 4 other cousins, all girls! 7 girls total will be running around (can you imagine??) and Aly wanted to get together with them so I invited everybody over to have it at our house. I wasn't going to make a big ordeal just a small thing amongst the 5 of us in the house, but Aly said, "Mom, we didn't even have turkey last year, by the time we got down to the cafeteria at Mayo Hospitals, the turkey was gone. So can we please have turkey this year." well, with that being said, I knew what had to be done.
Jessica has been battling the flu these past few days, has really high spiked fevers, but that is typical for her, it gets between 104-105 degrees. Took her into the Dr's office yesterday but she came out clean, doc says it's viral so nothing to do but wait it out. Besides the high temps, most of the times you can't even tell she is sick, most of us would be death warn over with temps that high and even the other 2 girls, they reach up to 102 degrees and you can really tell their sick but not little Jessie. Sammy has started the swim team and she is loving it! swim is one of her strong points, she has her first meet next week and we're all looking forward to see her doing well. Alyson has finished volleyball and is now in basketball and is doing well with her team, her height advantage really helps her out! Although you won't catch me admitting that she is as tall as I am now, just a hair under :-).
Oh yeah, as for the kittens, they're growing up very fast and I still can't believe we have FOUR cats in our house, and I hope I don't become known as the bitty old cat lady! :-) The girls are having lots of fun playing with the cats, i'm sure the oldest cat of all is relieved he isn't being mauled and picked on anymore as he was the only cat for about 8 years.
Thanks again for all the continued love and support from our friends and family. We hope you all have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!
