About The Art for Hope Foundation

The Art for Hope Foundation is a nonprofit organization with the mission of financially and emotionally supporting the families of children with cancer. The Foundation was established by the family of Thomas Pacheco. Art for Hope is a result of the family's simple but beautiful idea to use Thomas's own artwork to raise money. One of the Foundation's primary fundraising vehicles will be the artwork of the very children we support.

Because of the success of Thomas's original web site, the overwhelming positive response with which it was received, and the knowledge and experience gained in their own personal struggle with cancer, Thomas and his family wanted to expand the initial idea to help to other families. Thomas's family believes that the role of his web site in helping them face this burden cannot be understated, and the Art for Hope Foundation was established because they want others to experience the same love and hope that Thomas's site has given to them.

The initial plans of the Art for Hope Foundation are twofold. First, it will provide web sites similar to Thomas's for the families of children diagnosed with cancer. All costs will be covered by the Foundation, and easy-to-use tools will be provided to allow families to update and maintain their sites. Second, the Foundation will sell artwork for the purpose of raising money directly for the families it supports, and to help support the Foundation's operating expenses so that its services can always be freely provided to families in need.

David Kokjohn's site has been active for a while. Cheyanne LaLiberte's site and Barby Smith's site came online this past weekend. Our welcome, love, and prayers to all of them.

Children are truly special, but we realize serious illnesses strike at any age. We've therefore decided we'll create Touch of Hope sites for anyone in need. See Our Services for details.

Four-year-old Carly Laverty has joined us at Touch of Hope. Carly has the same rare cancer as Thomas, and our love and hearts go out to her and her family.
