Request A Touch of Hope Web Site

Do you have or know a child who has a serious or terminal illness? We know firsthand that the love and encouragement of others can make all the difference. Setting up a site for a child here at Touch of Hope is a quick and simple process, and managing the site is easy even for people without any technical or computing background.

Who can request and use a site?

We will provide a site at no charge to any family with a child age eighteen or younger who has a serious or terminal illness. Anyone can make the request, but only the child's parents or legal guardians can establish the site. Initially the child's parents or legal guardians will be given access to the tools to manage the site, but they may opt to give access to others as well.

Requirements

One of our foremost goals was to make Touch of Hope as accessible as possible to those who would like to use it. The only requirement to manage a Touch of Hope web site is access to a web browser. Use of the Touch of Hope tools is enhanced by having one's own computer and email address, but these are not requirements.

Public, Private, and Secured Sites

A web site at Touch of Hope may either be public, private, or secured. A public site is a site that is published in our Touch a Life directory and is generally viewable by all visitors to Touch of Hope. A private site is a site that is identical to a public site in every way, except that it is not published in our directory and the access address is kept private. A secured site is a private site that is further protected by requiring user id and password information to gain access to the site.

Requesting a Site

To request a site, send an email to siterequest@touchofhope.org with as much of the following information as possible: the child's name, sex, date of birth, and diagnosis; the name and contact information of the child's parents or legal guardians; the name and contact information of a doctor who can verify the child's diagnosis; your name and contact information if you are not a parent or legal guardian.

If you don't have access to email, you may contact us through any of the means listed on the contact page.

Even if you can't immediately provide all of the above information please contact us anyway. We will request any additional information that might be required.

Once we have permission from the child's parents or legal guardians to setup a site and the child's diagnosis has been confirmed, the site should be ready for use in about one business day.

David Kokjohn's site has been active for a while. Cheyanne LaLiberte's site and Barby Smith's site came online this past weekend. Our welcome, love, and prayers to all of them.

Children are truly special, but we realize serious illnesses strike at any age. We've therefore decided we'll create Touch of Hope sites for anyone in need. See Our Services for details.

You can now be notified by email whenever any Touch of Hope sites you select are updated. Click the "Login" link on the Touch A Life page and just follow the directions!

Four-year-old Carly Laverty has joined us at Touch of Hope. Carly has the same rare cancer as Thomas, and our love and hearts go out to her and her family.
