TUESDAY APRIL 29 2003

Support Thomas in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life

Starting at 5:30 on May 16 and going until 7 AM the next morning, Thomas will be walking in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraiser. Thomas decided that he wanted to help raise money to fight cancer, and Ritina has been working to help make sure Team Thomas comes together!

What the team needs now are contributions. Little ones, medium ones, big ones, we'll take them all! The team's goal is to raise $2500 for the American Cancer Society by May 13. That's just two weeks away, so if you can help with any amount toward this goal, no matter how small, please visit Thomas's ACS Relay for Life page and give Thomas and the fight against cancer your financial support!

SATURDAY APRIL 19 2003

Scans All Clear

We are thankful and joyous to report that Thomas's latest set of CT and MRI scans show that he remains cancer free!

Completing the scans took most of Tuesday. Thomas handled it all quite well even though it's been a few months since he's been poked or had any tests done. Usually the MRI is a somewhat emotional and stressfull process for Thomas and us, but this time he was calm and comfortable enough with the process that he actually fell asleep in the MRI machine (he was in it for well over an hour, and it is rather boring).

His blood work also showed blood counts that are essentially now back to normal. His white blood cells are still just a bit low, but not enough to be of any consequence.

Thank you sincerely for your continued prayers and encouragement.

FRIDAY APRIL 11 2003

MRI and CT Scan Next Week

Next Tuesday Thomas heads to Manhattan for his next set of scans. We ask for your prayers that, as has been the case for the past year now, these scans show that Thomas remains cancer free. We also ask for prayers for strength and courage for Thomas himself. The CT scan is usually very easy on him, but the MRI requires that he remain absolutely still in a confined space for up to an hour. The test is scary to him, and building up his resolve is sometimes difficult. Some of our most emotional experiences over the past year have been related to the MRI, and so we simply ask for your prayers that Thomas have the strength and courage to get through it with as little discomfort as possible. We offer our sincerest love and gratitude for your continued support, encouragement, and prayers.
